They're/Not There is a print exploring the difficulties of maintaining a long distance relationship while struggling with depression and loneliness.

University was a lonely time for me - one made tougher by my long distance relationship with my partner in Toronto. I deeply wanted to leave my university since second year, but was unable to do so. By my final year, the only thing to do was what everyone told me earlier: "It's only one more year. Just finish it out and leave." My partner was a source of strength in those times, but he equally was busy with school. We'd chat online late at night in the comfort of my bed, the cold glare of my phone on my face. The only thing I could do at that time was cling to my idea of a white picket fence life with him away from Kingston after this was all through - a condo in Toronto. He was with me all the time, but never truly there.
