Kaitlyn Hollander is a multidisciplinary artist based in Oakville, Ontario, Canada working with painting, printmaking, mixed-media, and installation. Hollander finds their subject matter in the uncurated archive of their daily life. Their work weaves the cultural associations of materials into a visual lexicon that explores mundane dualities of being: the tragedy within the comedy, the weight within the lightweight. By fervently repurposing discarded papers, canvases, and kitsch, they honor the labour, effort and history of people embedded in found everyday objects. By elevating these overlooked fragments, their work challenges the disposable obsolescence of modern capitalism and invites a reconsideration of the everyday.

Graduating with a BFA from Queen’s University, their work has been showcased galleries and private collections, including the Isabel Bader Center for the Performing Arts.
