FAMILY RELATIONS

"Family Relations" explores my interpretations of family dysfunction in its emotional experiences on the individuals. Despite claims that much has changed, the hardships of their shared pasts are irrevocably ingrained in themselves and in how they interact with one another. The results of this unchecked shared experience are grotesque:  regular family stresses drag on far past normal and gossip breeds in miscommunication. Habits and assumptions remain unchallenged - in ignoring trauma of the past, it etches itself into their present.
